Five Months Already!!

On the 12th my boys will be five months old already! I know people are always saying how fast time goes but it has seriously gone by so fast! We are now eating oatmeal, rice, squash, peas, and green beans. We're not too sure about sweet potatoes though. They are both laughing a lot, K more than R. I think that's just part of R's personality though, a little more serious and feisty. When we upset him he gives us long speeches, it's the cutest thing.
Their nurse came to visit and they're pretty much doing everything on time, they hadn't rolled over then but they have now so we're up to date so far. Hopefully it stays that way! (:

Besides the difference in personalities, K still has more hair than R and it looks quite a bit curlier but that could change. K is about half an inch taller, R weighs a few more ounces but he looks way bigger. They both "talk" a lot and they have certain shows they really pay attention to. K still has GERD which has been a pain but starting solids has really helped. We'll be changing his medications soon and hopefully he'll be feeling much better soon!

three months!

My boys will be three months old tomorrow. (1 month and 2 weeks, adjusted) they're growing so much everyday! They're both cooing a lot more and holding themselves up. Although R likes tummy time way more than K. While awake anyway. K likes sleeping on his belly which freaks me out but we've been told that's common for reflux babies. Some nights are definitely better than others but we're getting a nice break at night from about 8 to 11 or 12. Other than that we're still nursing about every hour or two.. I really like that break at night. Haha. All the other mommies said at about four months they started sleeping longer so we'll cross our fingers.. A didn't start sleeping through the night until about four months ago.. I hope the boys don't follow suit. R has been really slobbery lately so I dont think teething will help the no-sleep situation. But we're pretty excited about hitting milestones!

I took a few pictures this morning, they aren't in very good moods but we still got some cute ones.
A getting some molars I think, she keeps waking up at night and just being whiny throughout the day.. It'll be an interesting week. (:

Clearly K is enjoy himself...

So.. Some big differences are..
R has a better tan than A, K, or I do.
K's hair is thicker and looks curly? He may be the only one with my hair. Poor kid (:
R likes the vibrating papasan; K loathes it.
K either has hazel eyes or they're a lighter brown but they look different.
R is a lot more muscular looking.
K voice is deeper but again, that might just be the reflux.

Oh yeah! This is off topic but A is finally playing with other kids. She's still pretty bossy but its so cute seeing her finally act like.. A kid. Haha she's always such a little adult. <3

R is off oxygen!

R's second-first day off of Oxygen (: He was off for a bit in the hospital but his saturation kept dropping so he was put back on.. He is a thousand times more alert without it.
And now, meet Biker A

Update on the twins

I am so impressed with our boys. Besides a little reflux issue we haven't had anything go wrong since we left the NICU. They're, so far, doing things right when they should be. They're about 2 mos and 1 week (3 weeks adjusted) so we'll see how things progress.

At their 2 month check up K weighed 8 lbs 2 oz and R weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. R has doubled his birthweight, passed his brother in height and weight. Haha he has a little body builder.. Build? It's adorable. K's built a little leaner, but I think that might have something to do with the reflux.
They did surprisingly well, they're so tough. They mostly cried after but once we started walking they were good. Plus they got super cool army bandaids. I only caught a picture of R's, K's fell off. The second picture is them being mad at me, such nice guys.(Or am I the mean one because I was taking pictures?)

HOME!!!

On June 1 we were told the boys would be able to go home. Finally! Both boys were still under 5 lbs, K was pretty close but we weren't sure if R would gain enough by that morning. Most car seats are made for babies starting at 5 lbs, so they thought we might need a car bed. Never heard of one? I hadn't either, Google is a wonderful thing. (:
They have you stay overnight in a room to teach you how to do some things (in our case, basic CPR) and I think just in case you freak out you'll have nurses/doctors there to answer any questions.
Once we got there that evening though, we were told that K had another Brady and wouldn't able to leave for five days. It was pretty bittersweet, but better to be safe.
That night went well, and in the morning they did a car seat challenge - baby has to sit in car seat for x amount of time without stats going down - and then we were off! I'm not going to lie, I cried a little. But really, it was hard enough leaving the hospital without both if them, having to leave one in there by himself made me feel worse.
My sweet baby R did great though, he got to hang out with his sister...

K did great too, I personally think he just wanted some extra time in there with the ladies. (; He was discharged that Saturday morning, G went to pick him up alone while A and I tried to get everything ready at home.
She's such a hard worker.

Reunited. (:

What a week!

Our boys are here! When I came in on Sunday they did another fFN and it was positive. So we tried all the meds again but my boys wanted out, K had been head down but moved for some reason. I ended up having a cesarean which was one of the scariest things I've ever done.. But mommy's have to put their big girl pants on sometimes.
R was born first, at 7:33 pm on May 12, 2010. He was 17 inches and weighed 4 lbs exactly. We have pictures right when they came out, hopefully. G doesn't know where he put the camera. There was a lot going on. (: K was born at 7:34 pm. He weighed 4 lbs 9 oz and was 18.5 inches long. They were born at 33w3d which isn't terrible, definitely better than 29 which is when it all started. They're both doing really well, surprising a lot of the nurses we've talked to. R isn't on oxygen and K keeps going back and forth. They both like their binkies so they'll be ready to feed soon after all. (: they've been a little yellow so now they have them on the lights.. They get to wear sweet sunglasses. (: So.. Picture time!

G prepping for the operation.
He looks handsome, yeah. (:

K pulling a Zoolander. That's an oxygen hood over his head.

This is R, they're both really alert.

K, before they took him to NICU. I was so out of it..

The first time I got to see R awake.

R and his daddy. He already chose his favorite, haha. If his dad is around he only has eyes for him.

Wednesday night, the first time I got to hold K.

K and daddy.

K had to have his iv put through his belly button. I watched, he didn't cry or anything. Poor things have my veins I think, they're hard to get ivs in. It looks like he's just chillin though, it's cute.

R, this is the light for jaundice. He even held onto me for a little bit.. Only because his daddy wasn't around.

Today R discovered the binky.
And he loves it.

This is K, he grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go haha. Those glasses protect their eyes.. And just look awesome (:
